Supreme Court Asks Naidu to Appear Tomorrow in Skill Development Scam Case:

The Supreme Court on Monday declined TDP President Chandrababu Naidu’s request for an urgent hearing of his petition, which seeks to quash the FIR filed by the Andhra Pradesh CID regarding the skill development scam case and challenges his detention in the matter. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud rejected the request for immediate consideration and instructed Naidu’s attorney, Siddharth Luthra, to bring up the matter for mention tomorrow.

Following the expiration of his two-day CID custody on September 24, the ACB Court in Vijayawada extended the judicial remand of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu in the skill development scam case until October 5. Babu, who is presently detained in the Rajahmundry Central Jail, was presented before ACB Court Judge B.S.V. Himabindu via video conference shortly after the conclusion of his CID custody.
