The much-awaited Suriya Retro movie is all geared up to hit the big screens on May 1, clashing with HIT 3 and Raid 2 at the box office. Directed by the talented Karthik Subbaraj, this romantic action entertainer is expected to mark a strong comeback for Suriya after a series of disappointing performances.
Star actress Pooja Hegde plays the female lead, bringing extra star power to the film. In a recent interview, director Karthik Subbaraj revealed an interesting detail about the Suriya Retro movie. He said, “This film will have a 90s-style presentation. Not in terms of technology, but the storytelling treatment will feel nostalgic, similar to Mani Ratnam sir’s Thalapathi.”
Interestingly, Karthik Subbaraj originally wrote the story for superstar Rajinikanth, but later tweaked it to suit Suriya’s image and style. Produced by Jyotika and Suriya under the 2D Entertainment banner, the film features music composed by Santosh Narayanan.
Adding more excitement, Vijay Deverakonda will attend the Telugu pre-release event scheduled for tomorrow. Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments will present the film to the Telugu audience.
