Tamil Actor, Comedian, Director, and Producer Manobala Garu Passes Away at 69. The Tamil film industry missed actor, comedian, director, and producer Manobala, who passed away on May 3, 2023. The popular actor had been suffering from liver problems for the past few months and had undergone angio-treatment in January this year.

Manobala Garu started his film career in 1979 with the movie Puthiya Vaarpugal and gained immense popularity as a comedian. He was also a familiar face to Telugu audiences, having acted in several Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam movies. He shared screen space with several renowned actors throughout his career. His last films include Waltair Veerayya in Telugu and Kondraal Paavam and Ghosty in Tamil.
Apart from acting, Manobala Garu also made his mark as a director and producer. He won the SIIMA Award for Best Debut Producer for his first produced film, Sathuranga Vettai. He also lent his voice to the character Zazu in the Tamil version of the Disney movie The Lion King.
