TD Leaders Request DGP for Enhanced Security During Lokesh’s Padayatra:
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders have made an appeal to the Director General of Police, K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, seeking sufficient security measures and a safe passage for their party’s national general secretary, N. Lokesh, during the Yuvagalam Padayatra. They have also called for action to be taken against police officers who displayed biased behavior and failed to control supporters of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).
A delegation of Telugu Desam leaders, consisting of Varla Ramaiah, Nakka Ananda Babu, Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao, Parchuri Ashok Babu, and Panchumarthi Anuradha, visited the DGP’s office on Wednesday and submitted their formal request.
In their representation, they claimed that their party leader initiated the Yuvagalam Padayatra on January 27, commencing from the Kuppam Assembly segment and progressing to the West Godavari district.
They alleged that on a subsequent day, in the Bhimavaram Assembly segment, YSRCP supporters were allowed by the police to engage in provocative actions, disrupt the padayatra by displaying incendiary flex banners, issuing open challenges, and throwing stones. They further asserted that instead of preventing these attacks, the police disrupted the Telugu Desam supporters by apprehending some TD activists from their camp during midnight hours.
