TDP Alleges Electoral Malpractice: Calls for Action on YSRCP’s Freebies

Date:

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India regarding the discovery of a stash of freebies allegedly intended for distribution by the ruling YSR Congress Party.

The discovery of these alleged election-related materials has sparked controversy and accusations of electoral malpractice in the Srikalahasti Assembly constituency. TDP leaders, led by Bojjala Sudhir Reddy, have raised concerns about the potential influence these items could have on voters. They have demanded transparency from the Election Commission, urging officials to inspect all warehouses suspected of containing similar materials.

Additionally, TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh has criticized the YSRCP’s tactics, suggesting that attempts to sway voters with gifts may indicate a lack of confidence in their electoral prospects. As tensions escalate, both parties await further action from the Election Commission to address these allegations of electoral misconduct.
