Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy strongly condemned the alleged attacks on Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam, a BJP-ruled state. Expressing solidarity with the Congress leader, Reddy emphasized that such orchestrated attacks would only strengthen their determination to march forward, echoing the spirit of the party’s historical fight for the country’s freedom.
In response to the incidents in Assam, Congress leaders in Telangana, including AICC in-charge Deepa Das Munshi and state minister D Sridhar Babu, organized a candlelight rally as a symbol of protest against the reported assaults on Rahul Gandhi’s yatra. The rally commenced from the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram at Basheerbagh and proceeded to the Ambedkar’s statue near Hussain Sagar lake.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President, Mahesh Kumar Goud, former MP Madhu Yashki Goud, and other prominent leaders actively participated in the candlelight march, demonstrating their solidarity with Rahul Gandhi and the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
This condemnation from the Telangana Chief Minister and the subsequent candlelight rally highlight the growing political tensions and concerns surrounding Rahul Gandhi’s yatra in Assam, sparking discussions on the state of democracy and political discourse in the country.
