Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy announced on Thursday that the next session of the State Legislative Assembly would be convened soon. The schedule for the session will be announced shortly.
As the Minister in-charge of Karimnagar, he conducted a review with elected representatives from the district at his Secretariat chambers. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar was also present at the review.
During the discussion, he mentioned that the vigilance report on the sagging of Medigadda barrage pillars is expected to be ready by the upcoming Legislative Assembly session. He highlighted that the preliminary inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the construction of barrages for the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation scheme is currently in progress.
Expressing confidence in the Congress’ performance, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that the party aims to secure at least 13 out of the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana. He dismissed the BRS theory of a comeback in the Parliamentary polls, emphasizing that the main competition would be between the Congress and the BJP, with the BRS not being a significant factor.
