Telangana High Court has given a green signal for the conduct of Municipal elections by striking down the petitions filed against the state government.

Telangana High Court has given a green signal for the conduct of Municipal elections by striking down the petitions filed against the state government. Two public interest litigations were filed in the high court, one by K. Anju Kumar Reddy from Nirmal and another by Dr S. Malla Reddy from Medchel in Malkajgiri district. The two petitioners were seeking stay on issuing of notification for municipal elections, stating that the entire pre-poll process has been carried out by the state government by violating all the rules promulgated in the Municipalities Act. The State Election Commission likely to issue a notification in November first week.
