Following the surprising success of Mahesh Babu’s 2010 cult hit Khaleja, which garnered impressive box office numbers during its re-release on May 30, the Telugu industry is now witnessing a wave of nostalgic revivals. The buzz surrounding Khaleja was so strong, it even impacted the box office performance of the newly released film Bhairavam.
Now, three classic Telugu films are lined up for re-release in June 2025:
-
June 8: Lakshmi Narasimha, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, will return to theaters ahead of the actor’s birthday. The action-drama, a remake of Saamy, features Balayya in a powerful cop role.
-
June 13: Andala Rakshasi will hit screens once again. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the romantic drama stars Lavanya Tripathi, Naveen Chandra, and Rahul Ravindran. Varahi Chalana Chitram is reportedly banking on delays to Hari Hara Veera Mallu to make space for this re-release.
-
June 6: Dhee, the cult comedy by Sreenu Vaitla featuring Manchu Vishnu, Genelia, Srihari, and Brahmanandam, had a limited re-release but has unfortunately gone unnoticed despite its iconic comedy sequences.
