Thammudu, the emotional drama starring Nithiin and produced by Dil Raju, is now gearing up for its digital debut on Netflix, following a disappointing theatrical run. Directed by Venu Sriram, the film didn’t perform as expected at the box office, but the makers are now hoping for a second chance through OTT.
Netflix has officially announced that Thammudu will premiere on August 1, 2025, and here’s the surprise—it will stream in four South Indian languages: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. This pan-South release is part of Netflix’s continued effort to enhance its regional offerings and could help Thammudu reach a broader, more diverse audience.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Sapthami Gowda, Laya, Varsha Bollamma, Saurabh Sachdeva, Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, Temper Vamshi, and Chammak Chandra. The music is by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, whose score has received positive feedback, even though the film’s theatrical run was unsuccessful.
Whether Thammudu finds redemption on Netflix remains to be seen—but for now, it’s a noteworthy addition to the platform’s growing South Indian catalog.
