The Nintendo Switch Lite Seals 3DS’s Coffin

Date:

The Nintendo Switch Lite has sealed The 3DS’s Coffin and this has had much impact on consumers who are keen on purchasing viable products that are useful to them.

It is quite interesting to recall the Nintendo 3DS? Enjoy it while it is possible as after the Nintendo Switch Lite comes out, the 3DS will rather be erased from all of our collective memories. The Switch Lite does look nifty. On this week’s Kotaku Splitscreen, one does indeed talk about playing Switch games while lying in a hammock and also the cool limited edition 3DSes that one bought for no rhyme or reason. The Nintendo Switch Lite has sealed the 3DS’s Coffin.

Discussing games that a person has been playing with Jason still on Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Kirk getting the bad ending in Metro Exodus is what the focus is on. One indulges in Switch games in the wild (Phoenix Wright and West of Loathing). Then the trend is to break for some news (33:25); there was the Switch Lite announcement, a situation with the game marketplace G2A thus trying to pay journalists for positive coverage (with no one biting), and the Wind Waker homage discovered in Breath of the Wild. Finally, it ends up into off-topic discussion (54:23) of Pose, Stranger Things 3, and Veronica Mars before Kirk’s music pick of the week. It is quite obvious that the Nintendo Switch Lite has sealed the 3DS’s Coffin.

Jason: The Switch Lite happens to be designed to fill that gap that the 3DS and 2DS, which are presently basically dead, have left in their wake. So this is going to appeal to parents who want to buy their kids something and do not prefer to spend $300, or people who want a Switch but are not able to afford $300 because it’s a $200 price point. It does look sleek, got some cool color options.

Kirk: I  do have certain questions. To start with was there a video announcing this?

Maddy: Yes, it happens to be commercial where people are playing by the fireside. It is a typical Nintendo commercial where groups of diverse, hot teens are indeed playing a Switch together in various permutations.

Kirk: Nice. Did they make use of the Switch sound effect?

Maddy: They did in fact.

Kirk: It is interesting as it will not make that sound effect. One will hear the lovely snapping sound effect.

Jason: That does not make any sense.

Maddy: People have been going to the store and asking for a Switch. Nobody knows what a Nintendo Switch or Switch Lite would be like.

Jason: Oh, but this happens in BDSM shops.

Maddy: That appears so.

Jason: Nintendo started it with the DS Lite. The DS Lite came out, and it was indeed perfect.

Kirk: Yes, I got the DS Lite. That was the first gaming system I bought since an original Xbox, in a long time. I played several games.

Maddy: I think I traded mine in as I needed that tiny amount of money for trading it in.

Jason: $25 at GameStop.

Kirk: Any other Nintendo Lite consoles? Are there other ones, or is it just the DS Lite?

Jason: Just the DS Lite. There was a Game Boy SP, but that was before they started using Lite.

Maddy: There happened to be the Game Boy Pocket. That would have been the equivalent of the Lite. I had one of those.

Kirk: Similar to Switch Lite. I already do have a Switch.

Jason: Yes the Pro will be next year.

Kirk: Yes it will happen.

Jason: For sure. One can, of course, hold off on that hardware purchase for now.

Kirk: That is what happened with the 2DS as well.

Maddy: 3DS happens to be dead now.

Maddy: Is a person sad that the 3DS is dead now

Jason: Good old Captain Metroid.

Maddy: Can she crawl, though?

Kirk: I have the Majora’s Mask 3DS, which is rather amazing to look at.

Jason: It is incredible.

Kirk: It was super hard to get.

Maddy: I had to, of course, pre-order mine! I had to sign up to get it.

Kirk: It was the best buy.

Jason: One gets used to the big screen.

Kirk: It is nice to have a full controller scheme.

Jason: I agree on both counts. In case a person gets used to that, it’s hard to go back to the 3DS.

Maddy: Perhaps there is a need to buy a really pretty Metroid sticker for my Switch and put it on the back and also pretend that I have a special Metroid Switch.

Judging by this conversation it is evident why the Nintendo Switch Lite has sealed the 3DS’s coffin
