The Odyssey Leads Weekend Box Office Bookings, Akhil’s Lenin Holds Strong

Date:

The Odyssey has emerged as the biggest attraction at the Telugu box office this weekend, leading advance bookings among the latest releases. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan, the Hollywood epic is witnessing impressive demand, especially among multiplex audiences in Hyderabad.

According to the latest booking trends, The Odyssey is selling around 8,300 tickets per hour in Hyderabad, making it the top-performing release among this weekend’s new arrivals. While Nolan’s previous blockbuster Oppenheimer enjoyed even stronger advance bookings due to massive pre-release hype, the current trend suggests that The Odyssey has opened on a solid note despite comparatively moderate buzz.

The Odyssey Dominates Weekend Bookings

The strong response to The Odyssey highlights the growing popularity of Hollywood films among Telugu audiences, particularly in urban multiplexes. Christopher Nolan enjoys a dedicated fan base in India, and that appears to be translating into healthy advance ticket sales.

Although Oppenheimer set exceptionally high booking records, industry observers believe The Odyssey has managed a promising start and could witness further growth over the weekend depending on audience response.

Akhil’s Lenin Continues Steady Run

Meanwhile, Akhil’s Lenin continues to perform steadily at the ticket counters after a successful first week. The film has reportedly sold around 32,000 tickets over the last 24 hours.

While bookings have slowed compared to its opening week, the decline is considered natural after an encouraging initial run. Trade circles believe the film is maintaining decent momentum and could continue attracting audiences during the weekend.

Other Releases Open on a Slow Note

Among the other releases, Vadala and Oh Sukumari have yet to make a significant impact in advance bookings. The films are currently witnessing a modest response, with ticket sales remaining limited compared to the top releases.

Their box office performance is expected to depend largely on positive word-of-mouth after release.

Next Weekend Promises Bigger Competition

The Telugu box office is expected to become even more competitive next weekend with two major releases arriving in theatres. Jana Nayagan is scheduled to release on July 23, followed by Chennai Love Story on July 24.

With multiple films targeting different audience segments, the coming weeks are likely to witness an exciting battle at the box office.

For now, The Odyssey remains the clear leader in advance bookings, while Akhil’s Lenin continues to hold its ground with consistent audience support.
