The Pride of Bharat is aiming for a global cinematic scale, with the makers reportedly bringing in an experienced Hollywood action team for the ambitious historical drama based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The move is expected to enhance the film’s large-scale battle sequences and action choreography.
According to reports, Mark Henson will lead the stunt department, joined by Vlad Rimburg and Craig Macrae, who have previously contributed to internationally acclaimed productions including Game of Thrones, Vikings, The Witcher, Gravity, and The Fate of the Furious. Their involvement reflects the production’s focus on delivering visually grand action sequences.
The Pride of Bharat Expands Into a Two-Part Historical Saga
Directed by Sandeep Singh, The Pride of Bharat has already attracted attention after being planned as a two-part historical saga. Reports indicate that the combined production budget could exceed ₹500 crore, making it one of the most expensive historical films currently in development in Indian cinema.
A significant portion of the film will reportedly be shot across Maharashtra, capturing locations closely associated with the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Lead actor Rishab Shetty has undergone a physical transformation for the role and is expected to begin filming after completing his work on Jai Hanuman.
The film also features a notable ensemble cast, with Shefali Shah portraying Rajmata Jijabai, Arjun Rampal taking on a key antagonist’s role, and Vivek Oberoi playing Aurangzeb.
With international stunt specialists joining the production and an ambitious vision for its historical storytelling, The Pride of Bharat is emerging as one of the most anticipated big-budget Indian films currently in production.
