Tirupati Set to Introduce Electric Double-Decker Bus:
Tirupati is taking a significant step toward improving its public transportation by introducing a cutting-edge electric double-decker bus on its streets in the coming month. The electric vehicle (EV), valued at 2 crore, has recently arrived in the city and was acquired by Tirupati Smart City Corporation Limited.
The addition of this double-decker bus is set to transform the city’s commuting experience. Bhumana Abhinay Reddy, the deputy mayor of MCT, emphasized that this bus reflects the city’s commitment to providing sustainable and eco-friendly transportation options.
The MCT has collaborated with the AP State Road Transport Corporation to operate the EV double-decker on key routes within the city limits. Abhinay Reddy also highlighted that this move is a significant milestone for City, which has lacked a comprehensive public transportation system, and it will offer a comfortable and eco-friendly mode of transport while reducing reliance on auto-rickshaws.
