Tollywood 2017 Starts And End With Mega Heros Movies
Let us dwell on the exciting things that happened to the Telugu Film Industry in the year 2017. Though 2017 started with a lot of expectation, it later disappointed after the high-expected movie went flat at the box office. The year remained just like any other year, with a mixed response.
The year started with a bang with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s re-entry movie ‘Khaidi No. 150’, which also marked his 150th film. Along with Chiranjeevi’s film, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ also released for Sankranti. Hero Sharwanand’s ‘Shatamanam Bhavathi’ joined these two films in Sankranti race, and surprisingly all the three films were a bit hit.
Given the blockbuster openings in the first month, everyone expected that it would be a great year for the Telugu film industry. Excusing Baahubali 2, no other film managed to create tremors at the box office. Many films either ended as average and above average with few exceptions.
During the last quarter, ‘Arjun Reddy’ on Telugu audience after Baahubali-2. Many well-known film personalities have died in the year, and some unfortunate events shocked the film Industry.
Surprisingly, the year started with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film and also ended with another Mega-hero film. Allu Sirish starrer ‘Okka Kshanam’ opened to good reviews from the critics and fans. The sci-fi thriller caught the audience pulse and went on to become an unexpected hit. The year ended with a bitter memory for Sunil who came up with ‘2 Countries’ recently.
Let us hope that the new year, 2018 will bring great success to our Tollywood.
