Tripti Dimri Opens Up About Her Dream Role: Inspired by Kajol’s Iconic Negative Character in Gupt
Bollywood sensation Tripti Dimri, who rose to national fame with her striking performance alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Animal, is gearing up for an even busier schedule. The actress will soon star opposite pan-India superstar Prabhas in Spirit, directed by Animal filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Before that, fans can catch her in Dhadak 2, which is set to hit theaters on August 1.
During a recent promotional interview with Deccan Chronicle for Dhadak 2, Tripti revealed her dream role—and it’s not your typical heroine part. “Kajol was brilliant in Gupt. I’d love to do something like that,” Tripti shared. “Earlier, negative characters were seen as villains, but today, characters are more layered. I’d love to explore a grey-shaded role and challenge myself with something new.”
Tripti’s admiration for Kajol’s performance in the 1997 psychological thriller shows her eagerness to break the mold and explore diverse roles in her career.
In Dhadak 2, Tripti stars opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi in the official Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. The film is directed by Shazia Iqbal and backed by renowned producer Karan Johar in collaboration with Adar Poonawalla.
With a powerful lineup including Spirit and Dhadak 2 and her desire to take on complex roles, Tripti Dimri is undoubtedly carving a strong space for herself in Indian cinema.
