According to Trump, he will be detained on Thursday.
Donald Trump has announced his intention to voluntarily surrender himself to a Georgia court on Thursday to address charges related to alleged election interference. An agreement has been reached that permits Mr. Donald to remain free until the trial, provided he refrains from attempting to intimidate or threaten witnesses.
Mr. Trump is facing 13 charges, including racketeering and making false statements, all of which he vehemently denies.
The court filing, posted on Monday, stipulates that “The defendant shall perform no act to intimidate any person known to him or her to be a co-defendant or witness in this case or to otherwise obstruct the administration of justice.” This restriction encompasses activities such as social media posts or sharing others’ social media posts, among other actions.
The agreement was signed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is overseeing the case, as well as Mr. Trump’s legal representatives. Subsequently, on Monday, he used his social media platform, Truth Social, to express his disbelief, stating, “Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis.”
