Two arrested for illegally storing cracker material

Two individuals, Mohammed Nazir (42) and Mohammed Bashir (43) were taken into custody by Eluru One Town police on Friday for allegedly keeping supplies needed to make crackers at their Eluru home.

Two kilograms of jute twine, half a kilogram of sisindri black powder, 50 kilograms of potassium nitrate, 200 skyrockets, 16 yarn packets, seven kilograms of empty plastic pipes, eight kilograms of empty paper pipes, four kilograms of yarn pipes, one kilogram of bundles of bamboo sticks, and two cracker-making machines were taken from them by the police.

In accordance with sections 286 and 336 read with 34 IPC and section 9 (B) of the Explosives Act of 1884, a case has been filed against the two accused.

Inspector N. Rajasekhar of the Eluru One Town circle stated that those who produce or unlawfully store crackers will face severe consequences. He asked that in such cases, individuals call the police at 112, 100, 94497 96604, or 94407 96605 to provide information.
