Two-wheelers allowed on Tirumala’s Ghat Roads Until 10 p.m:
Starting from Saturday, two-wheelers will have access to Tirumala’s twin ghat roads until 10 p.m. This decision was made by TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy during a meeting with devasthanam officials at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday evening.
After leopards were sighted along the ghat roads and Alipiri footpath, the TTD imposed restrictions on two-wheelers, prohibiting their movement on the ghat roads from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Subsequently, thanks to collaborative efforts between the TTD and the state forest department, six wild cats were successfully captured.
“After a week of surveillance during which forest authorities confirmed no further threats, TTD Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has made the decision to permit two-wheelers on the ghat roads until 10 p.m.,” stated Dharma Reddy.
The executive officer of the devasthanam also presided over a meeting with officials to assess the readiness for the approaching Navaratri Brahmotsavams, scheduled to take place from October 15 to October 23, with Ankurarpanam set for October 14.
In anticipation of an increased number of pilgrims during the Dasara holidays, Dharma Reddy urged officials to redouble their efforts to ensure the event’s success, similar to the recently concluded annual Brahmotsavams.
