UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2024 Postponed: New Exam Date Announced

Date:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has rescheduled the civil services Prelims exam 2024 due to the upcoming general elections, pushing the exam from May 26 to June 16. This decision was made to avoid conflicts with the Lok Sabha elections, which are set to commence on April 19. Candidates can find the official notice regarding the postponement on the UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.

The announcement by UPSC comes as a response to the scheduling overlap with the impending general elections, ensuring that candidates have ample time to prepare. The civil services preliminary examination, serving as a screening test for the Indian Forest Service examination as well, will now take place on June 16 instead of the originally planned May 26. With the Lok Sabha polls spread across seven phases and counting scheduled for June 4, the UPSC aims to streamline the examination process and maintain fairness for all candidates. For more details and updates, candidates are encouraged to visit the official UPSC website.
