Vijay Deverakonda is back on the big screen this week with “Family Star,” hitting theaters on April 5th. This is a reunion for Vijay and director Parasuram, who teamed up for the superhit movie “Geetha Govindam” in 2018. “Family Star” is another family-friendly story, produced by Dil Raju.
The trailer for “Family Star” just came out, and while it doesn’t reveal much about the plot, it has all the makings of a fun summer flick for the whole family. However, some people online have been criticizing the movie’s title, claiming it promotes Vijay’s celebrity status.
Vijay addressed these concerns at a press conference today, explaining that “Family Star” isn’t about him. Instead, it represents the supportive and caring person in every family who holds things together. He says the title is for everyone, not just him.
Vijay also revealed that his father, Govardhan, is the real star of his family. With the director’s approval, Vijay even named his character in the movie Govardhan because the role reflects those same family-oriented qualities. He even mentioned that the success of “Family Star” would be the perfect birthday present for his dad, who turns another year older on April 9th.
So, get ready for some family fun! Family Star releases on April 5th.
