The newlywed couple, Team India Captain and Anushka Sharma are on cloud nine post their marriage, as Virat has added another feather to his already enriched cap. He has become the most valuable Indian Celebrity brand dethroning Bollywood King, SRK. This is indeed the first time someone has pushed the superstar to the No.2 position since its inception.
According to 2017 report titled “Rise of the Millennials: India’s Most Valuable Celebrity Brands”, Duff & Phelps, a global valuation and corporate finance advisor, said that Kohli topped the list of Indian celebrities with brand value of $144 million, only followed by SRK with a value of $106 million, placed in 2nd position. Deepika Padukone with $93 million, Akshay Kumar with $47million and Ranveer Singh $42million complete the top 5 list.
“Virat is now the obvious choice and preference of brands to engage and attract consumers, drove by his amazing on-field performances and off-field charisma,” said a report.
The bold and dashing cricketer along with his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma just returned from their honeymoon. It is to be noted that Former Team India Captain MS Dhoni and Olympic Silver medalist PV Sindhu are the only other two sportspersons who are in the top 15 list that is dominated by the stars of Bollywood.
