Vishnu Manchu Teases Period Film After Kannappa, Gives Update on Dhee 2
With his magnum opus Kannappa set for a grand release on June 27, actor Vishnu Manchu is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the devotional fantasy film. Featuring star-studded cameos from Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal, Kannappa has generated major buzz across the industry.
In a recent exclusive with Pinkvilla, Vishnu opened up about his plans beyond Kannappa. When asked about upcoming projects, particularly the much-anticipated Dhee 2, Vishnu gave fans a glimmer of hope.
“I haven’t thought about any projects after Kannappa. There’s a period film set in 1947 that we want to pull off. But right now, all my focus is on Kannappa,” he said.
He also addressed the long-standing rumors around Dhee 2, the sequel to the 2007 comedy blockbuster Dhee:
“Regarding Dhee 2, the director and I have been trying to get together. I would do that film in a heartbeat. I just hope one day they will come up with a script.”
Though he didn’t reveal more details about the period film, fans are intrigued by the 1947 setting, which hints at a historical or patriotic drama. Meanwhile, excitement continues to grow around Dhee 2, which is still in early development stages.
For now, all eyes are on Kannappa’s release, but Vishnu’s hints about what’s next are already sparking curiosity among fans and industry watchers alike.
