The aim is to raise public awareness about clean air, blue skies, and methods to combat air pollution. Various awareness programs focusing on clean air and blue skies are being organized by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. As part of these initiatives, events such as drawing competitions, science fairs, and experiments, along with creative competitions involving students from all schools in Vijayawada City, are scheduled to take place on September 5 at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium.
Furthermore, a cyclotron walkathon is planned for September 7, running from Eat Street to Benz Circle, with the goal of promoting eco-friendly modes of transportation and advocating for a healthier lifestyle. These programs will involve walking and cycling, serving as a means to convey the message during the walkathon.
The Commissioner emphasized that clean air is a fundamental right and a shared responsibility for all. He expressed the hope that this initiative would inspire society to take meaningful steps towards cleaner and healthier air. The VMC encourages participation from the residents of Vijayawada and the surrounding areas, aiming to make these efforts a resounding success.
