BJP and BRS supporters fight at a protest
On Thursday in Hanamkonda town, Telangana, there was a clash between supporters of the BJP and the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) during a protest. The confrontation occurred when BJP members attempted to surround the camp office of local MLA Vinay Bhaskar from the BRS.
As BJP protesters gathered, supporters of the ruling party also arrived, leading to a violent exchange of stone pelting that resulted in injuries to some individuals. The police had to step in to break up the fighting.
The BJP workers were protesting in response to a call from their leadership for statewide demonstrations against the perceived shortcomings of the BRS government. Rakesh Reddy stated that their demands included providing housing for the underprivileged, creating employment opportunities for the jobless, and implementing the Dalit Bandhu scheme. He alleged that they were attacked by a significant number of troublemakers and criticized the police for seemingly protecting these individuals.
In another incident, tension arose near the residence of civil supplies minister Gangula Kamalakar in Karimnagar. BJP workers accused the minister of reneging on promises to his constituents and attempted to besiege his house. Police subsequently arrested the protesting BJP members and took them to the police station.
