Working hours for international students in Australia will be increasing from 40 hours to 48 hours per fortnight with two years of work visa increase, the Australian government declared.
To give support to international students while studying in the country. It will help students to survive.
In the pandemic situation, student visa work objections were free from normal rules. they were closed in January 2022 to allow primary and secondary student visa holders to work more than their basic limit of 40 hours per fortnight to address workforce decreases. These rules will be ended on June 30, and another fresh cap shall be available for all international students, no problem when they are started studying.
The Australian government also issued a 2- years increase of post-study work rights is also available to international graduates with chosen degrees which are good skills shortage.
This extension shall be provided to eligible international higher education graduates for an additional two years on their present Graduate vis (subclass 485). The extension is also available for the existing ones additional one to two years of work rights for eligible students when are study and work and live in regional areas.
Post-study work rules will be expanded from two to four years for select bachelor’s degrees. For Master’s degrees, three to five years will be improved. almost six years from the four for all doctoral degrees.
“To gain better educational skills and stay long in our country and get growth of economic benefits all of us, we are giving these facilities”, said Minister for Home Affairs Clare O’Neil.
For the last decade, we are looking for skilled immigrants and ways to increase chances for immigration with visas to work. she said.
In Australian universities, 1,00,009 Indian students are studying over the country as per data revealed by the Indian External Affairs Ministry for the year 2022.
