There is a greater need than ever for innovative, workable solutions to reduce traffic congestion in cities throughout the globe. Large Indian cities, particularly metropolises like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, are frequently featured in news articles regarding the traffic difficulties that city people experience and the amount of time they spend stuck in traffic.
In an attempt to address the traffic problem in a futuristic manner, Guangdong, the country’s booming southern province, has authorized the use of “flying taxis,” which will operate against the backdrop of the cityscapes. Ehang, a Guangzhou-based business, has produced the world’s first electrical vertical take-off and landing, and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has granted it a “type certificate.”
The drone that was granted the type certificate, the EH216-S AAV, is a completely autonomous vehicle intended to transport two people.
This brings the vision of self-driving air taxis—which are a common sight in science fiction films across several languages—one step closer to reality.
