Fazer Bakery in Finland becomes the first company to sell ‘Incest-based bread’ in human history. The demand to find more food sources has increased in the western world with people trying to treat animals more humanely. Many believe that insect-based foods not only stop red-meat but are also of highest protein. ‘Crickets’ were used as the main ingredient for the incest-based bread.

‘Due to the limited supply of crickets (insects), the incest-based bread will be initially sold in 11 Fazer Bakery stores located in Helsinki region hypermarkets’, said a company representative. When asked a student how the new insect bread tasted, he said ‘it doesn’t taste any different. It just tastes like bread’.

The Fazer Bakery stores representative stated that ‘we are planning to expand our new insect-based bread to 47 stores by the end of the next year. We are currently importing cricket-flour from Netherlands. We are looking forward to finding some local suppliers’.

Along with Finland, five more countries have allowed the legislated the use of insect-based foods. Finland has joined the likes of Britain, Netherlands, Denmark, Austria and Belgium.

The incest bread costs around 4 Euros, in comparison to 2 or 3 Euros for normal bread.
