Legendary director Yash Chopra’s films are still loved by the audience. His eye for detail and brilliant narration has kept fans glued to the screen. Soon, he became Bollywood’s finest romantic filmmaker. After his first film Dhool Ka Phool in 1959, he gained fame and stardom with his film Waqt and also received his first Filmfare Award.
Yash Chopra was the producer of some of the biggest hits in Bollywood, including Deewar, Daag, Kabhi Kabhi, Silsila, Chandni, Lamhe, and Dil To Pagal Hai.

1. Rajesh Khanna
Yash Chopra was able to establish his own production house in the industry with the help of Rajesh Khanna. Rajesh Khanna’s early films failed to make an impact and he was waiting for a hit movie until finally, In 1969, Rajesh Khanna’s breakthrough film Ittefaq marked a turning point in his career. Four years later, in 1973, Yash stepped into the role of the producer himself and released Daag with the actor and the film was a box-office success.
2. Amitabh Bachchan
In 1975, Yash Chopra worked on Deewar which was a huge box office hit and helped Amitabh Bachchan’s career reach new heights and catapulted him to instant stardom.
The dialogue “Mere paas maa hai” is one of the most hit dialogues to date. Yash also worked with Amitabh Bachchan in the romantic film Silsila starring Jaya Bachchan and Rekha.

3. Shah Rukh Khan
Yash Chopra signed Shah Rukh Khan for the villain role in Durr, The movie proved to be a blockbuster at the box office and earned Shah Rukh Khan numerous accolades. Later, Shah Rukh Khan starred opposite Kajol in Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. And, it became an all-time blockbuster.
Later on, he was also featured in several other romantic blockbusters by Yash Chopra, such as Dil To Pagal Hai alongside Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor, and Veer Zara, in which he co-starred with Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji. Yash Chopra’s last film was Shahrukh Khan-Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
