The comment was reportedly made during a promotional event for Kotabommali PS, where Allu Aravind was discussing film budgets, star remuneration and the importance of scale in determining a movie’s commercial potential.
While making his point, Aravind reportedly asked, “Who was Yash before KGF?” The statement soon became a talking point among Yash’s fans, with many feeling that it overlooked the actor’s career and popularity in Karnataka before KGF.
Yash’s Mother Defends His Journey
Reacting to the remark, Pushpa reportedly pointed out that Yash had already established himself as a leading star in Karnataka before the KGF franchise transformed his reach across India.
She also emphasized her son’s humble beginnings and said his position in the industry was built through years of hard work and perseverance rather than family influence or inherited wealth.
Pushpa further questioned why an actor from an established film family would feel threatened by the rise of a self-made performer. She stressed that Yash had started his journey without any major backing and gradually created his own identity through his work.
