Yash’s much-awaited action drama ‘Toxic’ has been in the news ever since its release, and now the makers have announced an interesting update. The film was shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with international studio Lionsgate partnering with KVN Productions for its distribution. However, unlike the other language versions, the English cut did not arrive on the same day.
Now, following the completion of its first week in theatres, the makers have officially revealed the release date of the English version. The English cut of ‘Toxic’ is set to hit select theatres tomorrow, September 4, 2026.
What makes this announcement more interesting is that the English version will not have the same runtime as the original. The makers have confirmed that the English cut will be shorter than the Kannada version, which has a runtime of 3 hours and 14 minutes.
It remains to be seen whether the shorter English version will connect better with international audiences and bring a fresh boost to the film’s theatrical run. ‘Toxic’ has opened to mixed reviews and has reportedly recorded modest box-office numbers during its first week.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash in the lead role, ‘Toxic’ is mounted on a reported budget of around Rs. 500 crore. With the English version now arriving in select theatres, all eyes are on its reception and whether it can make a difference at the box office.
