Air India Pilot leaves passengers in Airport!

Air India pointed its fingers towards Indigo Airlines ‘manhandling’ incident on Twitter recently. Now it is the turn of Air India to face the wrath after a pilot said ‘His working hours are done, and he is off duty.’

As per the reported source, Air India flight from Delhi to Jaipur was delayed. After the aircraft has landed in Jaipur, it was scheduled to leave for Delhi for its last leg of the day. But the aircraft pilot stated that he wouldn’t be taking the flight from Jaipur to Delhi citing that his work hours are over.air india pilot leaves passengers in airport

Around 40 passengers were left in a state of shock and confusion. The airline officials offered the passengers to travel by road. Few of them agreed to the proposal, while others asked for next available flight. Few of the passengers travelled to Delhi by road on a bus.  The remaining people were provided hotel accommodation for the night and were placed on the first flight the next morning.

Jaipur Airport authorities explained, ‘According to DGCA guidelines, a pilot shouldn’t do overtime. Due to safety concerns, the pilots are barred from extending their work hours. The pilot expressed that he is tired and wouldn’t be piloting the aircraft.’
