Family Blames School, Seeks Action Against Principal

New Delhi: A protest erupted outside a north Delhi school on Friday, demanding strict action against the principal after a 12-year-old student died nine days after allegedly being assaulted by seniors. The boy’s family accuses the school of inaction despite repeated complaints, adding fuel to the fire of anger and grief.

Allegations of Assault and Neglect:

The family claims their son, a 6th grader, was beaten by senior students on January 11th, suffering a knee injury. They repeatedly approached the principal, urging him to take action against the perpetrators and requesting CCTV footage, but allege they were met with empty assurances and dismissal.

Tragic Outcome and Police Investigation:

On January 20th, the boy was admitted to a hospital with worsening health and sadly passed away during treatment. Upon investigation, the police registered a culpable homicide case and confirmed the cause of death as septicemic shock due to a knee injury sustained from blunt force trauma.

Medical Negligence Claim:

The family further alleges medical negligence at the initial hospital visit, where the crucial Ortho OPD was closed, and the boy wasn’t referred for further treatment despite his injury.

Demands for Justice:

The protest, fueled by the family’s grief and accusations of negligence by both the school and medical professionals, demanded justice for the young boy. The case is currently under investigation, and the principal’s response to the allegations is awaited.
