Billionaire Jeff Bezos is not only famous for his ‘Amazon’, but also for his crazy ideas. The billionaire also started a space company ‘Blue Origin’. Jeff is once again in the new for a weird reason. The billionaire announced that he has been helping an individual named Danny Hillis for the past 6 years. ‘I have been helping Danny to build a 500-foot mechanical clock for the past 6 years’, said Jeff Bezos.
The 500-foot mechanical clock is being built inside a West Texas Mountain. Once completed, the 500-foot mechanical clock will work for 10,000 years.
Surprisingly, the clock features a century hand, which will advance once every 100 years. The 500-foot mechanical clock is reported to cost $42 million (or Rs 272 Crores).
‘I had the idea of building this 500-foot mechanical clock from 1989 itself. Thanks to Jeff, I am living my dream’, said Danny Hillis.
Jeff’s tweet read, ‘building a Clock inside a remote mountain is a big task. Construction is underway, and we’re making progress every day’.
