After the Pakistan Defence Ministry posted a ‘morphed’ Indian Girl picture on its official Twitter account, Twitter suspended the Pak Govt. official Defence Ministry account on receiving complaints.
The post from ‘defencepk’ Twitter ID had the picture of a girl. The girl stood holding a placard with ‘I am an Indian but I hate India because India is a colonial entity that has occupied nations such as Nagas, Kashmiris, Manipuris, Hyderabad, Junagarh, Sikkim, Mizoram, Goa.’
The Indian netizens on Twitter were quick to notice the doctored photo and posted the real picture. The real photo read ‘I am a citizen of India and I stand with secular values of our constitution. I will write against communal mob lynching of Muslims in our country. #Citizens Against Mob Lynching’
The twitter user Nalia Inayat discovered the fake post by the Pakistan’s Defence Ministry. She further went on to say, ‘Other than running malicious campaigns against several Pakistani journalists/activists, @defencepk was also morphing photos to further its propaganda.’
The girl in the photo was identified as Kawalpreet Kaur, a student of the Delhi University. She took the pic with the placard while standing in front of Jama Masjid.
