Actress Shakeela’s 250th ‘Seelavathi’ Movie

The generation born in late 1970’s and 1980’s does not need any introduction of Malayalam actress Shakeela. The actress rose to fame after she was widely seen in B-Grade movies in South Film Industry. The popularity of the actress was enormous, even superstars like Mammootty and Mohan Lal gave a second thought to release their films along with Shakeela’s films. Though there are many reasons for the actress to opt for this kind of film, irrespective of anything she became a brand herself. In fact, she earned more than what top star heroines at that were earning.
With time, things did change. She slowly faded out from B-Grade movies and settled with character roles in the films. The latest buzz is that Shakeela will be playing the lead role in an upcoming film, Seelavathi. The film marks the 250th film in Shakeela’s career, a great achievement by all standards. Sai Ram Dasara is directing the film.
The movie’s teaser has been released. Speaking at the press meet, ‘the movie is a psychological thriller. It is based on a true event that happened in Kerala. Thanks to my producers (Ganesh and Veerababu) support, the film came out very well. Music director Prajwal Krish came up with excellent background music. We are sure the film will be commercially successful,’ said the director.
The 40 sec teaser shows Shakeela sitting in a bungalow. Completely dressed and two kids in her lap, we are bound to see something very surprising and exciting. Adding to it, the horror-themed BGM further takes the suspense element to the next level.
