Today marks the worldwide release of the much-awaited film, Shaakuntalam, in both 2D and 3D formats. Directed by Gunasekhar and produced by Neelima Guna, the film is a collaboration between Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Malayalam actor Dev Mohan. It aims to convey the emotions behind the title character and pass on this timeless epic to younger generations. Featuring an ensemble cast of top-notch actors and technicians, the film also stars Allu Arha, the daughter of Allu Arjun, in the pivotal role of Bharata, son of Shakuntala and King Dushyanta.
In the run-up to the film’s release, many celebrities have been wishing for its success. Allu Arjun, too, took to Twitter to express his good wishes for the Shaakuntalam team. He conveyed his appreciation to Gunasekhar, Neelima Guna, and Sri Venkateswara Creations for bringing this epic tale to life. He also wished the lead pair, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan, and the supporting cast the best of luck. Additionally, he thanked Gunasekhar for introducing Allu Arha to the silver screen through her cameo appearance in Shaakuntalam.
Shaakuntalam boasts of a talented team behind its screenplay and direction, including Gunasekhar, who helmed the project. Neelima Guna produced the film under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks, while Mani Sharma composed its music. Dil Raju presented the film under Sri Venkateswara Creations. Sekhar V Joseph served as the cinematographer, while Prawin Pudi handled the editing.
