Amaravati Vision: CM Chandrababu Naidu Outlines Integrated Metro Region Plan

Amaravati Vision has taken center stage following Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s remarks during a review meeting on the progress of the capital city’s development and CRDA projects.

According to the Chief Minister, Amaravati should not be viewed as being limited to its 29 villages. Instead, he said the capital should be developed as an integrated metropolitan region by connecting Amaravati, Vijayawada, and Guntur under a unified urban development strategy.

A Three-City Development Model

During the review meeting, Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of integrating the three urban centers to accelerate economic growth and infrastructure development.

The proposed model envisions:

• Amaravati as the administrative capital.
• Vijayawada as a commercial and business hub.
• Guntur as a major educational and trading center.

According to the government, better connectivity among these cities could strengthen the region’s long-term economic potential.

Focus on Roads and Connectivity

As part of the Amaravati Vision, the Chief Minister reportedly directed officials to accelerate the construction of world-class road infrastructure.

The plan includes expanding road connectivity through Inner Ring Roads, Outer Ring Roads, and improved transport networks aimed at ensuring seamless movement between Amaravati, Vijayawada, and Guntur.

Officials believe enhanced connectivity could support investment, business activity, and urban expansion across the region.

Green and Blue Development Concept

Another major focus of the review meeting was sustainable urban planning.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to prioritize the Green and Blue Concept, promoting environmental conservation alongside infrastructure development.

Instead of unchecked urbanization, the plan aims to preserve the natural landscape around the Krishna River, increase green cover, and develop Amaravati as an eco-friendly, livable capital city.

Emphasis on Timely Project Execution

Chandrababu Naidu also stressed the importance of completing capital works within the prescribed timelines.

He reportedly warned that delays in execution could affect investor confidence and directed construction agencies to deploy additional manpower and machinery wherever required.

The Chief Minister said he would personally monitor the progress of Amaravati development projects through regular reviews and field visits.

Official Vision for Capital Development

The government’s integrated development approach aims to transform the Amaravati region into one of South India’s major urban and economic centers.

However, the proposed development model and timelines are based on the Andhra Pradesh government’s stated plans and review meeting discussions. The full implementation of these proposals will depend on future execution and project progress.
