Amtrak Train Derails From Bridge and Hits Motorway

When an Amtrak passenger train derailed in Washington State near the city of Tacoma, sending cars flying off a bridge and onto a busy interstate. So far six people are reported dead and the death toll is expected to rise say, officials.
At the time of the accident, approximately 78 passengers and five crew members were aboard the train, Amtrak said a statement. This is an unfortunate, derailment that occurred on the first day, the trains began using a new inland route between the cities of Tacoma and Olympia. This was a planned project intended to reduce the travel time, as per the October news released from the state’s transportation department.
‘Multiple fatalities’ are reported after an Amtrak passenger train derailed during its inaugural run on a new faster route near the city of Tacoma. Initial reports suggest the train might have struck something on the track before derailing.
More than 77 people were moved to hospitals in Pierce and Thurston counties, the Tacoma based CHI Franciscan Health healthcare network said in a statement.
Even the President Donald Trump took to Twitter immediately after the accident took place and said the situation is being monitored closely and expressed his thoughts and prayers to everyone involved in the mishap.
