CM Jagan Launches Liquor Import Scheme in Kurnool:
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy officially opened a lift irrigation project designed to provide water for both drinking and irrigation to 77 tanks. The project, originally budgeted at Rs. 253.72 crore, has seen an investment of Rs. 207 crore by the state government to date.
Arriving at Orvakal airport via a special flight, the Chief Minister then reached the Lakkasagaram pump house by helicopter to inaugurate the project. The initiative involves a pumping station at Alamkonda as its starting point, with water distributed to various areas through a network of pipelines.
The project benefits 28 tanks in the Dhone assembly constituency, 35 tanks in the Pathikonda constituency, 3 tanks in the Alur constituency, and 2 tanks in the Panyam constituency, providing water for around 10,000 acres in Kurnool and Nandyal districts. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Labour Minister G Jayaram, as well as various legislators and officials.
