DC, which marks the acting debut of acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, is heading to the digital space after an impressive theatrical run. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the action drama emerged as one of the biggest surprises in Tamil cinema this year, crossing the Rs. 100 crore mark worldwide.
OTT Premiere Date Locked
The latest update is that DC will begin streaming on September 4. Sun NXT has secured the film’s post-theatrical digital rights and will premiere the movie on the platform from the announced date.
There are also reports suggesting that the film could be made available on Prime Video simultaneously. However, an official confirmation regarding the alleged dual-platform release is still awaited.
Multilingual Streaming
To reach a wider audience, DC will be available in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The multilingual OTT release is expected to give the film an opportunity to connect with viewers who may have missed its theatrical run.
Lokesh Kanagaraj makes his acting debut in the film, adding another interesting layer to the project. Wamiqa Gabbi plays the female lead, while Sanjana Krishnamoorthy appears in a crucial role.
Produced by Sun Pictures, DC features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Following its successful theatrical journey, all eyes are now on how the action drama performs once it arrives on OTT.
