Delhi High Court gives a shock to BJP MP Subramanian Swamy!
The plea by Subramanian Swamy over the probe of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has been dismissed by the Delhi High Court. The Delhi High Court stated that ‘this perhaps is a textbook example of what looks like political interest litigation has been dressed up like a public interest litigation’ and dismissed his plea seeking a probe into the death of Sunanda Pushkar by a SIT – Special Investigation Team.
‘Subramanian Swamy has appeared to have concealed some data of information. This should have been disclosed at the first instance only,’ said the high court. The Delhi police and the Union Government expressed that, they are did not subscribe to the views of Swamy, who stated that MP Shashi Tharoor might have influenced the probe.
While the recent observation from the Delhi High Court was welcomed at largely, few sections of the society did raise their voice against the High Court’s observance. They felt that Sunanda Pushkar’s death case should be thoroughly investigated by the National agencies as it did rake up a row of controversies at the time of the incident.
Sunanda Pushkar died on 17th January 2014, with the cause of death mentioned as ‘poisoning due to drug overdose’.
