Producer of ‘The Vaccine War’ Documentary Sets Sights on Bollywood:
As the much-anticipated film ‘The Vaccine War,’ directed by Vivek Agnihotri, gears up for its release in approximately 400 theaters across India on September 28, Telugu producer Abhishek Agarwal is increasingly nurturing his Bollywood aspirations.
Abhishek Agarwal has invested over Rs 12 crores in this distinctive film and anticipates a faster return on his investment than initially projected. He expresses optimism about the film’s prospects, attributing it to the positive response garnered by the teaser and trailer, which has fueled growing anticipation.
The postponement of the high-profile commercial entertainer ‘Salaar,’ starring Prabhas and directed by Prashanth Neel, from the same release date, has created a more favorable environment for ‘The Vaccine War’ to secure a strong opening. Abhishek Agarwal clarifies that there was never a direct competition with ‘Salaar’ due to the distinct genres of the two films. ‘The Vaccine War’ is a content-driven film centered around the unique theme of ‘bio-science.’
Abhishek Agarwal recognizes the advantage of the upcoming extended holiday weekend until October 2, which is expected to contribute positively to the film’s box office numbers. He acknowledges that story-driven movies often find their audience over time and believes in the power of word-of-mouth publicity.
Having achieved substantial success with ‘The Kashmir Files’ across India, the producer has ambitious plans for Bollywood. He aspires to create star-studded films in the Hindi film industry, similar to those in Tollywood. Abhishek Agarwal is actively seeking the right script, recognizing that Hindi audiences have a penchant for innovative and novel content.
