Dogs not only bark but also speak

A group of researchers have discovered that dogs not only bark but also speak to their owners. The astounding discovery came into light after a group of researchers based in London carried out experiments in recording various sounds that dogs make during different occasions.

‘For example, when the dog feels hungry, it makes a pretty saddening sound seeking the attention of the owner. Similarly, when the dog is excited and is willing to play, it makes a different sound that is shrill. When some stranger knocks the door one can find that the dog’s voice turns to be blunter in a sense of alerting its owner,’ said a researcher, who is part of the group.

‘Dogs generally make different sounds while they are hungry, sad, isolated, angry, and happy. They clearly communicate with us. We just need to show some keen interest to understand them,’ said another researcher.

The research was carried on 40 pet-owners after researchers played various sounds of the dogs to their owners. ‘Nearly 63% of the pet-owners can understand the calls of their pets. Women understand their pet’s call better than men,’ the researchers claimed.
