‘Fake’ Image Of Broken Hyderabad Metro Pillar Goes Viral On Whatsapp. A recent WhatsApp message which claimed that a Hyderabad Metro Pillar in the ISB – Gachibowli route has broken. The message went viral and was shared more than million times on WhatsApp and other social networking platforms. The post became so viral that, it also caught the attention of Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao and Hyderabad Metro MD SVN Reddy.
Referring to the post, SVN Reddy stated that, ‘the photo of a ‘broken metro pillar’ that is being circulated on WhatsApp and other social networking platforms is not from Hyderabad. The photo is a metro pillar from another country. The pillars in the Hyderabad Metro Project weight thousands of tons. They are earthquake resistant pillars too. People who are jealous about the Hyderabad Metro Project might be behind these fake posts.’
The Hyderabad Metro project which has been a dream of every Hyderabadi came into functioning on 29th of November 2017. The Metro project was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28th of November 2017. The metro created a record for serving more than 2 lakh commuters on the first day itself.
