Formula E Case: ACB Files Chargesheet Against KTR and Four Others

The Formula E Case has taken a significant legal step with the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filing a chargesheet over the alleged transfer of ₹55 crore to the Formula E Organization (FEO) during the previous BRS government’s tenure.

The investigation, which lasted for nearly 15 months, culminated in a 77-page chargesheet submitted before the court in March 2026.

Who Has Been Named in the Chargesheet?

According to the ACB chargesheet, the following individuals have been named as accused:

  • K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), BRS Working President and former minister
  • Arvind Kumar, former MAUD Special Chief Secretary
  • B.L.N. Reddy, former HMDA Chief Engineer
  • Alberto Longo, spokesperson of the Formula E Organization (FEO)
  • Kiran Rao, Director of Ace Next Gen

The agency has alleged irregularities in the approval and transfer of funds related to the Formula E event.

What Is the Allegation?

The ACB alleges that ₹55 crore was transferred to the Formula E Organization without following the prescribed procedures and approvals.

Based on these allegations, the agency registered a case and conducted an extensive investigation before filing the chargesheet.

Case to Proceed in Court

With the chargesheet now before the court, the legal process will move forward in accordance with judicial procedures.

The court will examine the chargesheet and related material before deciding on the next course of action.

Accused Deny Wrongdoing

Leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), including KTR, have previously rejected the allegations and maintained that no illegality was committed in relation to the Formula E event.

The case is currently under judicial consideration, and the allegations made in the chargesheet are yet to be tested in court.
