Vijay Devarakonda who shot to fame with a blockbuster like Arjun Reddy has become the talk of the town. He has shared screen space with legendary actors like Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, and other yesteryear and contemporary actors in the movie ‘Mahanati’, a biopic on legendary actress Mahanati Savithri. He played the role of Vijay Anthony, husband of Madhuravani, a journalist, portrayed by Samantha.
Sharing his experience working with Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda said, ‘it was really fun working with Samantha. She is always energetic, and his full of jokes. It is a nice experience to work with such talent crew and actors. I will remember this journey forever’.
He also spoke how he has got a chance, and shared that he was frightened to play the character of Gemini Ganeshan, which was ultimately played by Dulquer Salmaan. ‘When Swapna called me, I immediately said yes without thinking further. It is largely because I, Swapna and Nag are close friends.
After Dulquer stated that he cannot accommodate bulk dates, I was asked to play the role of Gemini Ganeshan, husband of Savithri. I was really hesitant thinking that whether I can do justice or not. But thanks to fate, Dulquer again came on board, and I was saved’, said Vijay Devarakonda. ‘Mahanati’ released worldwide to excellent reviews and openings, and is going strong at the box office.
