Corona virus guidelines need to be followed in case one wants to be protected from Corona virus. World-wide much concern has been expressed about this virus.

What is COVID -19?

It happens to be a new flu-like virus has been reported all across the world causing innumerable deaths. It is advisable to follow coronavirus guidelines to keep safe from being affected by the virus.

What are the symptoms?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), symptoms of this COVID-19 usually include:

• Feeling tired

• Difficulty breathing

• A high temperature

• A high temperature

• A cough and/or sore throat

When to seek medical help?

Recent travel is a factor to reckon with as there is high risk of being affected by the coronavirus virus. It occurs in case one has come in contact with anyone who has visited a high risk area or any of the following:

• visited a live animal market

• had contact with live or dead animals (including raw or undercooked animal products)

• had contact with a sick person who had fever, cough, or difficulty breathing

• One believes one may have to come in contact with the COVID-19.
If one develops

• cough

• difficulty in breathing

In the next 14 days, it is necessary to get in touch with one’s health care provider or local public health authority. To protect those around one, it is better to wash the hands often and cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

How to avoid getting COVID-19?

Hand hygiene is the first and most important line of defense. The WHO recommends:

• washing hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds
• carry disposable tissues with you, cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze and dispose of the tissue carefully

• avoiding any unnecessary physical contact with wild animals.

In case one comes into contact with wild animals, the WHO does recommend a person to wash one’s hands immediately. It is also essential to ensure that your meat is cooked thoroughly before consuming it.

Other tips include:

• Carry a hand sanitizer in order to frequently clean one’s hands easily. Always wash your hands before you eat

• Be especially careful in busy airports and other public transport systems about touching things and then touching one’s face

• Do not share snacks from packets or bowls that others are dipping their fingers into

• Regularly clean, not just one’s hands, but commonly used surfaces and devices one touches or handles

How to slow the spread?

To help slow the spread of COVID-19, one needs to practice good hygiene and social distancing and follow the rules for public gatherings, quarantine and self-isolation.

One needs to follow:

• Good hygiene

• Social distancing

• Public gathering to be avoided,

• Self isolation

Surgical masks

If one has COVID-19, wearing a surgical mask can also help to prevent spreading it to others.

If a person is well, there is no need to wear a surgical mask. There is little evidence that widespread use of surgical masks in healthy people prevents transmission in public.

Coronavirus guidelines do instruct such a measure.

Vaccination

There is indeed no vaccine for COVID-19, but there is one for the flu.

One gets a flu shot. Getting the flu and COVID-19 at the same time can make one very ill.

Efforts are on to find a vaccine all over the world. Scientists are working on it.

Care for one’s health

If one is unwell and thinks it might be COVID-19, it is better to seek medical help.

If one is unwell with a different medical problem, contact a doctor for advice as well as treatment.

In case of chronic medical condition, it is better to seek medical or pathology test appointments. Contact the doctor or specialist to talk about one’s concerns.
