Husband files case on Wife Domestic Violence

In India, a wife often files a case against the husband on the grounds of domestic violence and harassment. Shockingly, a husband filed a case against the wife on the same grounds. This incident took place in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The judge of the ‘First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court’ agreed for hearing the case.
Going into the details, marriage ceremony took place between Gogu Ram Kumar and Naga Jyothi on August 11th, 2017. Disputes between the couple started two months into the marriage. Speaking to a tabloid, Gogu Ram Kumar said, ‘She is already married, and is also having kids. Naga Jyothi never told me that she is kids, and she is divorced from her previous husband. After I started questioning her about the same, she started torturing me’.
In fact, in his petition, Gogu Ram Kumar filed that, Naga Jyothi filed a case under IPC Section 498(A), and is demanding Rs. 10 lakhs from me. I am just a mechanic. From where can I get so much of money?
The hearing is postponed to February 21st, 2017. This is the first time in Indian history, that a husband has approached the court. Other lawyers are stating that the court’s acceptance to hear this case itself is a sign of the victory of the victim.
