The periods of March, April, and May are “expected to be more temperate than usual” over northwest, west, middle and portions of South India, the India Meteorological Department stated today in its summer forecast.
Above normal heatwave conditions are also likely in the core heat wave (HW) zone during the season (March-May), the weather department said.
The nucleus heatwave territory includes the states of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Telangana and parts of Maharashtra and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
